How to avoid pains caused by Heels

Painful Heels: Necessary Evil

(Stiletto)... very uncomfortable, very impractical, but sexy as hell.

Ed Youngblood

The best way to avoid pains caused by high heels is to avoid using them. But that being a luxury which most of us cannot afford, here are a few things that can be done.

  • Do not wear high heels for a long period of time.
  • Choose a shortest high heel that gives you the desired look.
  • High heels taste good as side dishes. So wear comfortable footwear alternatively after wearing high heels.
  • Do some foot exercises after wearing heels for long time. This will relax your foot muscles.
  • There are many accessories available to meet specific foot problems. Check out which one you need and use them regularly.
  • Ask yourself: are your look worth enough the pain caused in wearing them.

Three Great Myths about Heel Sandals

There are three great myths about wearing heels and foot health

  • If I wear broad heels, I won't get any medical complication.

Reality: Howsoever broad your heel is, you still face foot problems if they are high. Broad heel may be comfortable to walk than pointed heel but it doesn't help reducing foot problems.
  • Wearing well cushioned heels will save me from foot pain.

Reality: cushioning comforts your feet but it doesn't save you from back pains or other foot problems.

  • Only fatty people are affected by wearing high heels.

Reality: Even skinny people face the same problem as fatty people.

Knowing about these myths would help you buy a right pair of Comfort sandals. These may not be new to you (as people often talk about them). Yet it is difficult to completely avoid wearing heels: a battle between desire and logic--logic, for most of us, fighting a losing battle.
