Night Splints – How to cure heel pain using Night Splint

Night splint is used to get relief from Plantar Fasciitis, chronic heel pain, foot drop (weakness or paralysis of muscles) and other heel associated injuries. It also plays a major role in easing the foot by exact aligning the joints and muscles.

Function:

Intended function of ‘Night Splint' is to ensure soft stretch to the Plantar Fascia and Achilles Tendon. This type of stretch gradually decreases the muscle contraction, swelling and related pain. Apart form these, gentle pressure helps for perfect positioning of the foot. In some cases, the elastic strap of the Night Splint pulls big toe and straightens it close to the normal position. The new position adjusts to relieve pressure and removes the strain over the area of bunion.

When to Use:

  • Use night splint, if you feel any tightness in calf muscles.
  • A mild pain in heel/arch region at the initial stage, later it becoming severe at irregular intervals.
