Biography:

Vivienne Westwood born in Vivienne Isabel Swire on 8th April1941 in Glossop, Derbyshire. This flamboyant designer is well known among all for introducing the punk style in the haute couture. Her most popular shoe designs are exhibited in world famous museums. One of her amazing craftwork Blue mock-croc platform shoes exhibited at the V&A Museum in London earned much accolades and acclaims in the haute couture.




Company: Having her partnership with Malcolm McLaren, Westwood became the proprietor of boutique variously named as Let It Rock, Too Fast to Live, Sex, Seditionaries, World's End etc. She then opened her second shop Nostalgia of Mud in 1980 and even launched many collections and established many firms making a huge sale all over the world.

In Field Since: Vivienne Westwood kick started his designing career during 1970’s. She started her designing pursuit with the opening of Let It Rock, at 430 King's Road in 1971 and gradually rose high as a popular shoe designer.

Designs For: Vivienne designed the most uncompromising and provocative. Die hard fans of his shoe collections include Adam Ant, Gwen Stefani, Mick Jagger, Pete Burns Shiina Ringo, Fearne Cotton, Ai Yazawa Naomi Campbell etc.

Popularity: Her idiosyncratic approach in designing shoes has established her as one of the Britain’s most pioneer designers. This avant-garde frontrunner in haute couture whirled up the fashion world of 20s with the most alluring shoe designs in vogue. Most of her shoe collections are kept in the world famous museums for their look that rocked the fashion world. One such shoe design Blue mock-croc platform shoes that Supermodel Naomi Campbell wore on the catwalk in a famous runway spill (1993) is exhibited in world class museum. This maven whiz was honored with many awards that she deserves for her excellent works of art. Some of the awards she won are British Designer of the Year twice in 199o and 1991, OBE in1991, Queen's Export Award in 1998.
