Emilio Pucci

Biography:
20th November 1914 was really a hay day in the history of the haute couture with the birth of the avant-garde designer Emilio Pucci. He completed his graduation in 1937 from Reed College in Oregan from where he bequeathed the art of designing ski. He is fave designer for all the Italian fashion freaks. He casually tried his hand at design by crafting his own ski team’s uniforms. This resplendent shoe designer carried 30 years of experience and his endeavor is still evolving.
He emerged predominantly as a designer by the inspiration of a fashion photographer. Much inspired by Pucci’s skiwear, photographer Toni Frissell working for Harper's Bazaar took photographs of him in 1947 and asked him to design women's ski clothes for a story on European Winter Fashion. From thereby he started his designing pursuit and grown up to the level of the eminent shoe designers.

Company: After inaugurating showrooms in Florence, Capri, and Rome, Pucci established his signature look with elegant sportswear, especially ski wears. His brand got much strengthened and he soon became famous, opening his first shop in Capri (1949), also beginning his other boutiques in Rome, Elba, Montecatini (1950). Today Emilio has 29 boutiques throughout the world, extending from Paris to Moscow and from Palm Beach to Bangkok.
In Field Since: Pucci started his designing pursuit in his early days while studying at Reed College during 1937 by designing his own ski team clothes. But he ventured into designing and sold clothes for women by opening his first fashion house in 1950.
Designs For: Many Hollywood stars and celebrities are die hard fans of his shoe designs and most of them can be seen wearing them. His fabulous shoe adored the feet of the most beautiful Nikki Hilton and Mischa Barton.
Popularity: Emilio’s geometric prints and multi-colored flowing designs brought him to the elite level of the legendary designers. His designs had been popular all over the world and exclusively in Italy. Pucci is known as ‘prince of prints’ for his marvelous works of art. Pucci’s popularity was in top in the 60’s and 70’s. In 1990 Emilio Pucci retired from active design work. On behalf of her father, his daughter, Laudomia Pucci, received the Council of ‘Fashion Designers of America’ Award in New York in 1991. Pucci won many other awards for his innovative style, including two from Neiman-Marcus in 1954 and 1967 for "distinguished service" in the field of fashion.
