Biography:

Donna Karan born on 2nd October 1948 is a flamboyant fashion designer of the haute monde for her excellent adroitness of shoes. Having brought up by a fashion family (step-father, a tailor and her mother, a model), she was inspired and fascinated towards the fashion world since her childhood.

Since from the early age, her mind was fully preoccupied with fashion related thoughts and ideas, which made her designing career bright and successful. She was educated from Parson's School of Design which she discontinued for working at Anne Klein Couture house. Soon after the death of Anne Klein in 1974, she became the chief designer of the company and brought notable success over the next ten years.

Company: Donna launched company with her own collection in 1985. In 1888, she introduced a line of DKNY (casual line of low-priced clothing) which paved the way for the outgrowth of the company. Gradually her fashion label soared to heights maintaining the figure-flattering designs with a grandstand play sales.

In Field Since: Donna Karan started her designing pursuit for Anne Klein label in 1967. She entered this field of fashion designing by creating exclusive designs for Anne Klein couture house that hit right the haute monde resulting to a big buzz.

Designs For: Her creations are beautiful yet realistic that stealed the hearts of many celebrity clienteles. She has taken an absolute traditional approach to all her shoe designs. Some of her die hard fans include Chef Rachel Ray, supermodel Adriana Lima, Barbra Streisand, and Demi Moore etc.
