Biography:
Andrea Pfister, the wizard of shoes, was born on 30th August 1942 in Pesaro in Italy. He studied art and languages at University of Florence 1960-62 and shoe design at Ars Sutoria, Milan, 1962. His shoe collections are said to be ingenious and erotic in look but yet very comfortable. Andrea Pfister has pursued a flawless designing career by crafting the most fabulous and ground breaking shoes that are its way out in look. He is internationally recognized and labeled as a master shoe designer.
He is a legendry shoemaker whose designs are praised world wide and a few are even kept in the world famous museums like Bata Shoe Museum, Fashion Institute of Technology, Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising etc. He is having an unique skill of designing shoes with different color combinations that gives the shoes an exotic feel.
Company: opened his first shop in Paris in 1967. Later in 1968 he opened a line of his own collections and by the year 1973-74 he established a shoe factory in Italy. But recently in 2001 his company was owned by Fin. Part Group and Andrea Pfister was appointed as a chief designer of it.
In Field Since: Andrea Pfister entered the door of designing in 1963 by designing shoes for Lanvin and Jean Patou in Paris. There by his pursuit of designing shoes started and gradually took him to the height of a great couturier of shoes.
Designs For: He is an outstanding designer whose shoes designs are exquisitely stunning and fabulous. His new fangled designs had adorned the feet of world famous personalities like Elizabeth Taylor, Madonna Ursula Andress, Claudia Cardinale, Candice Bergen, Jacqueline Bisset, Cher, Valentina Cortese, Madonna, and Liza Minelli.
Popularity: His way of crafting a new design, first starts with color and revises the archetypes in different modes by equally balancing the comfort and style in vogue. Even he was wrapped up with a huge number of awards for his excellent craftsmanship of shoes. Some of them are Fashion Footwear Association of New York, Gold Medal, 1988; Designer of the Year, 1990 (for Anne Klein); first prize, shoe designer international competition, Amsterdam.
