Construction Methods and Materials of Casual Boat Shoes
Normally, a boat shoe consists of an upper unit, a mid-sole and an outsole. The traction outsole is attached to the bottom of the midsole.
- An upper unit consists of a padded tongue, which is of non-absorbent material and its inner part is lined using two plies.
- The outer ply is made up of a hydrophobic material and the inner ply is made up of a hydrophilic material with good wicking properties.
- A sock liner is provided at the bottom portion of the shoe and is made using fabric material, through which water can proceed easily. This sock is sewn to the bottom of the upper unit.
- Midsole is molded using a plastic material. It includes drainage holes (chambers) both in its front as well as rear part, having numerous projections for supporting your foot.
The inner sole consist of a substantially non-deformable elastomeric type of urethane. A contour molded heel and arch section, a substantially flat sheet containing a ball and toe section are present in these shoes in order to protect your feet from damage.
