Average: 5 (2 votes)

I have seen people questioning "how to remove shoe odor?" Really to say, shoe odor creates a lot of problems more than we expect. It is so embarrassing when someone say "Hey your shoe stinks!" What if I conduct a poll on "Are you victim of shoe odor?

Once it happened. I had a crazy thought to wear my Uncle Bob's sneaker shoes in his absence. I slipped his room slowly and my heartbeat started pulsating in high degree.
I opened his shoe box .... (blank)...I was lying unconsciously on floor. Uncle Bob probed me up (After an hour) and said "stopping watching ghost movies".

I dedicate this video to all my fellow victims

I thought of sharing you how my Uncle Bob's shoes became fresh. Though removing shoe odor takes time and patience, your shoes are worth the risk. Here are some
Top 7 secrets that would help you to have odor-free shoes.

1. Wash your Shoes
First wash your shoes with soapy detergent. Apart from washing your shoes you need to wash your socks too at regular intervals.

2. Use sprays
Daily spray disinfectants and deodorizers that are specially designed for foot odor problems. Sprays like Tineacide Foot Odor Spray, New Balance Shoe Deodorizer and Akileine Fresh Foot Spray are effective and popular in the market.

3. Apply Powders
Don't forget to apply foot powder specially made for foot odor problem to foot feet and/or shoes. On Your Toes Odor Eliminator Powder, Dr. Scholl's Odor Destroyers and Derman Deodorant Powder are some of the famous foot powders available online. You can also liberally sprinkle bicarbonate or baking soda inside your shoes. Keep it aside for a night and dust out before you wear again.

4. Change Shoes and Socks Often
Change your shoes and socks frequently or at least once a day. Immediately when you notice them being wet then that's the right time for a change. Use a clean pair of socks everyday and prefer wool or cotton socks rather than using synthetic or nylon socks which won't wick moisture from your sweaty feet.

Tips: Rotating your shoes and socks are highly advisable. Give a day gap between wears so that they get dry out for the next wear.

5. Go for Breathable Shoes
Though it seems that leather shoes are the best to put on but normally they stink a lot in due course. When these shoes started stinking then that's the end, once for all. Actually leather made shoes make your feet sweat, so it is better to wear canvas or nylon shoes (mesh materials) that are highly breathable.

6. Dry your shoes
Don't wear or place them in a shoe box when your shoes are wet. If there is water or excess moisture inside the shoes, they start smelling awful (less than a day). So keep them in an airy space or stuff with newspapers and allow them to dry thoroughly. Removing laces and lifting the shoes' tongue would help drying sooner.

7. Tea bath to your feet
Excess sweating problem can be solved by soaking your feet in a container of strongly brewed black tea. The tannins in the tea will kill the bacteria and keep your feet dry and odor free. Practice this daily for a week for about 30 minutes. No doubt, your problem is solved.

Remember, its all about keeping your shoes clean. So staying away from shoe odors is not a magic when you know the art of caring your shoes. No more Uncle Bob's shoes. Yeah?

I am pleased to hear your tips if any.
