Expensive Sneakers Need Redefinition | Prada's 100th anniversary exclusive sneakers

Average: 4 (2 votes)

They (researchers) tested nine differently priced shoes from three brands on 43 men who were not told the prices of the shoes.
The least expensive pairs were priced 40 to 45 pounds ($82 to $92), with moderate pairs at 60 to 65 pounds ($123 to $133), and the most expensive at 70 to 75 pounds ($143 to $153).
But the research, conducted in the Institute of Motion Analysis and Research at the Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, Dundee, Scotland, found little, if any, difference.
"Low- and medium-cost running shoes in each of the three brands tested provided the same (if not better) cushioning of plantar pressure as high-cost running shoes," concluded the researchers.

This news item
was clamoring my rss reader in so many different versions as published in various websites. (you can find them here, there and there) And you know what I felt like? I felt am little foolish to read a news item like that, as my "New Product Arrival" email from Neiman Marcus delivered some other interesting news:

Prada, the Italian Fashion House, is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a Neiman Marcus exclusive sneaker. And you don’t need to thousands of dollars to own this one. A little less is needed, however. How much? Just $995. And what do the researchers consider as the most expensive sneaker? (just see top): $153. (does that ring any bell? Research is sarcastically far ahead!)The twist of the story doesn’t end here. Product page of this Prada Sneaker ends with this line:

"Due to high demand, a customer may order no more than three units of this item every thirty days."

Sounds like we are not talking about sneakers but iPhones (which anyone can remember had similar restrictions)!!!

Sneakers with GPS – time to pay subscription for your shoes!

Average: 4 (1 vote)

Sneakers help keeping you on track in your sport. Voila! Now you can be tracked (or your kids can be) by the sneaker you wear. Think it is dream or a late gossip that hangs around on the Internet, all time?

Los Angeles-based GTXC is making Sneakers with GPS embedded in them. The company is still in its experimental stage to deliver sneakers with Global Positioning System facility. Sneakers are low cut and are priced between $99-$199 with a subscription fee of $19.95 (as you know they are still experimenting and prices may be quite the same or vary at large).

These shoes are going to be a great accessories for parents to keep track of their children. While the intention in making these sneakers is to increase the safety of the children who travel alone, not all parents are going to use it the same way it is intended. Privacy, freedom and trust will be a great concerns for teenagers who take these sneakers.

While teenagers like the Smart Phone (I know it has become an old craze after iPhone, still), there is less chance for them to love a Smart Shoe (the company calls these sneakers so.)

Animal Print Booties – This Falls’ Eye Catcher

Average: 4 (1 vote)

This Fall, Animal prints and booties are catching up the fashion stage among many other styles. From cat paws to leopard print (that includes the whole lot of zebras, giraffes, monkeys…. in the range), various animal signs make up their way on sandals, booties, and ballerinas giving them a new look. Call it animal-inspired? Crazy thought! But I feel that marks the end of what we call Athletic inspired.

Reviewing the best shoes here at shoecapital.com, I thought of recommending Charles David’s boot for this Fall.

Charles David’s exotic and gorgeous ankle boots are simply perfect for this Fall. These come with a faux lace-up front, pointed toe and stiletto heel. Full zipper for convenient slip-in. Did I forget to tell something? Ya, that animal thing! This exotic boot has a beautiful leopard print and that really makes a bold appearance.

Feel wild this Fall, with some animal prints.

For those of you who like cats (or monkeys) than leopards, I am coming up with few more recommendations in the following posts. So keep watching. Or subscribe to Shoe Oracle and get notified through your favorite feed reader.
